The Diogenes Cafe is one of the oddest establishments in Biloxi. Upon approaching the door, which is fairly unremarkable, you pass into a nice entry room. There is a logbook, watched by a doorman. There is a proud sign that states three rules:
1) Membership required.
2) Silence is required.
3) Ignore your fellows.
Over the door at the other end of the hall is a sign that reads, "Silence is the Root." in Latin. The room past the entryway is large and nicely appointed. A central fireplace, lots of newspapers, all kept to date. No books line the walls, it looks like those who come here bring their own. There are people of various ages, all nicely dressed, reading quietly. There are no computers, no phones, no signal. It seems like nothing from the outside world touches this place. There is a richly appointed coffee and tea bar. Everywhere you go there are bowls of cough drops, and anyone found to be making a noise is sternly reproached. Three offenses usually results in expulsion.
In a raised area off in the far corner is a private table that is frequented by the owner, Rebecca St. Claire. To attempt to sit with her is immediate expulsion, but sometimes she allows individuals to do so, to the consternation and curiosity of the other patrons, who quickly must put it out of mind or suffer expulsion.
Secrets: This place is owned by a potent mage, and Rebecca enjoys her solitude. The building is banned with most Arcana conjunctive, and protected by strange entities unseen to mortals but that ping occasionally with the Mind arcana. If you want to see her, you're typically directed here, but it is unlikely that anyone outside the Awakened would know to do so.
