As most know, the majority of the games have a third option for defining your PC. In Mage, this is the legacy. While potent, they have high XP costs and an unfortunate (As written) joining mechanic. Therefore, it's being changed.
Instead of a temp WP at the beginning and permanent at the end (Gnosis 7) of the teaching with 1 xp a game session given to the mentor, the Mage spends a flat 8 xp upon gaining the prerequisites to the attainment (So up to three times, at Gnosis 3, 5, and 7).
This "attainment" XP goes to the mentor, whether NPC or PC. At the end of the mentorship (whenever the student wishes to end or deviate his legacy path), both the mentor and the student pay a willpower that is lost to them for months equal to gnosis/2 rounded down.
