Det. Lillian Ayer Empty Det. Lillian Ayer

Post  Lillian Ayer Mon Nov 01, 2010 12:41 am

Lillian Ayer joined the force a few months ago. She's quiet, reserved, serious, and dedicated to her work. She never seems to go home, always working a case from her office and she's never without a cup of coffee or a cigarette. Though attractive (Striking Looks 2), she suffers from constant stress, lack of sleep, and apparent lack of nutrition.

She's a part Irish-American of apparent Boston heritage (a faint New England accent, which is quickly covered), about 5'6", 110 lbs (underweight) with short Auburn hair and green eyes. She always wears a gray and black pinstripe (no tie, but a silk scarf), with accompanying black overcoat (which she wears too often, even when it gets a little warm, though she never seems to be satisfied with the temperature), and formerly black sunglasses, now replaced with a pair of shaded wire glasses. The few times she's satisfied with the temperature (middle of August with the AC off in her office), people who spoke with her might have seen the tattoo of ornate scales above her left wrist, normally hidden by her coat.

By far the oddest thing about her appearance, if at all, is the silk scarf, which appears to always be moving slightly in crosswinds or drafts of the old station. Outside, its always catching air. Sometimes it seems longer or shorter, but that's just how she wears it (right?). It's diaphanous and pretty, complimenting her other darker colors, and she's never without it.

Still, she's a crack cop. On the firing range, she rarely misses, and the few times that she's shown up in the gym she's shown decent hand-to-hand skills, though rarely with partners unless challenged (these individuals typically end up on their asses, even if they're beat cops three to four times her size). Her case solving is spotty, though she always identifies a suspect, sometimes they die of unrelated means before being taken in. Often times, they take her slim and attractive appearance as one of weakness, and end up with a bullet between the eyes. Still, there are no outstanding cases on her desk.

In relation to other cops, she's a loner. This gets weird looks and rumors of her history or purpose, especially considering how easily she works a crime scene or identifies causes of death. If she talks to others, its in relation to a case, or sometimes with Patrolman John Samuels (transferred in the past week).

If she goes to Mac's, she never drinks anything but coffee, but smokes at least half a pack.

((Players with the ability to see ghosts or Unseen Sense feel...weirder around Lillian. Out of the corner of your eye you might see strange shadows that shouldn't be there. When you focus, there's nothing there, and you start to think it was just your imagination.))

In the past few months Lillian has gotten less...frigid. While still cold and calculating, she is friendlier with some of her fellow cops. The rest of the force figures this was due to her shift change, but this is hadly conclusive. Still, she spends a lot of time with Samuels, Jones, and Insaf, maybe so much that people talk about the water cooler. And then laugh, because it seems impossible that this woman cares about anyone.

Her case coverage has rocketed, as has her success rate. While some perps still disappear, she's become known as a hard-ass, willing to arrest witnesses if they've broken a crime. Her ability to sniff out at least one serial killer while on the job has earned her some attention, even if the murderer got away.

Her relationship with Judge Thomas Bryson is also beyond compare. Her ability to turn barely any evidence into arrest and conviction has led him to increasingly give her more warrants on thinner evidence.

Lillian's success rates have resulted in her being promoted to Detective 2nd Grade (Police Status 3)
